CLCE DRUG ANALYSIS SERVICES THROUGH ANDOR LABS

Andor Laboratories Services blows away the competition in the field of clinical toxicology and general drug analysis services with the industries finest laboratory equipment and prices that can't be beat.

Laboratory Methods:

Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass-Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) technology uses a more specific testing method, and yields quantative results versus the qualitative result that is obtained using auto-analyzer or IA devices.  These results provide specific information including the presence of specific drugs and the drug’s metabolites. LC-MS technology uses a low limit of quantification (LLQ), as low as few (pg/ml ng/mL), with no interference, which is needed to have the complete picture of certain drug and its metabolites. Using this type of analysis we can provide more accurate results in determining if a patient is taking prescribed medications, unprescribed medications or illicit drugs.  We can also conduct research studies on certain metabolites in several cases, especially when the metabolite produces the same pharmacological effect as the parent drug.

Once a urine specimen is received it is scanned into our database and assigned an individual number for reliable identification and tracking purposes. Then a sample undergoes a variety of testing.

  1. Screening: An initial Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) test screens for the presence of opiates, benzodiazepines, amphetamines, illicit drugs and other drug classes.
  2. Specimen Validity Testing: Each sample undergoes validity testing using creatinine, pH levels and specific gravity to confirm it is an actual human sample and that it has not been adulterated or diluted.
  3. Confirmation Testing: Liquid chromatography – Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry is an analytical chemistry method that merges the physical separation capabilities of liquid chromatography with the mass analysis capabilities of mass spectrometry. LC-MS is a powerful technique used for many purposes which has very high sensitivity and selectivity.

Andor Labs is also ready for, not only urine analysis but also for, both blood and saliva. Knowing that blood is more valid and accurate to determine the drugs’ concentration in the body, Andor Labs is capable of focusing the type of matrix and the accuracy of sample collection. Saliva is also a better matrix for validity and accuracy than urine in the sense that one cannot obtain a 24hr urine sample from all of their patients.

ANDOR LABS ACCREDITATION

1-COLA  accreditation
Andor Labs meets the criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA. COLA is a physician-directed national healthcare organization whose purpose is to promote excellence in laboratory medicine. COLA accredits almost 8,000 laboratories and provides the clinical laboratory with a program of education, consultation and accreditation. Accreditation is awarded to laboratories that maintain established quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in proficiency testing performance and successfully complete regular on-site laboratory inspections.
Andor Labs is a recipient of the COLA Award for Excellence.

2-CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment)
As a CLIA registered laboratory, Andor Labs compiles with the regulatory requirement and standards established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) agency of the Federal government.
Andor Labs is currently accredited to accept specimens from many U.S. states. We are currently applying to several more highly regulated states for additional accreditations.

3-CAP
CAP is a program allows laboratories to regularly evaluate their performance and improve the accuracy of the patient results they provide. Through this program, the CAP provides individual laboratories with unknown specimens for testing. The participants analyze the specimens and return the results to the CAP for evaluation. In turn, each participating laboratory receives a report of their performance as well as a report summarizing the results of all participating laboratories.
As part of COLA accreditation, Andor Labs participates in the highly regarded College of American Pathologists (CAP) Proficiency Testing program for Urine Toxicology. Our participation in CAP Laboratory Improvement Program contributes to quality in laboratory services and patient care.
